Sew Help Me™ Frequently Asked Questions
Is Sew Help Me™ tested on animals?
Absolutely not! We very much believe in protecting all the critters on our planet and can assure you that we absolutely do NOT test on animals or use any ingredients in our Sew Help Me™ Moisturizer that are tested on animals. We are proud to have Sew Help Me™ listed on the Personal Care page of the Leaping Bunny Shopping Guide (www.leapingbunny.org) and are a licensee of the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) logo.
What is the CCIC?
The corporate commitment to eliminating the use of animals in cosmetics and household product testing is known as the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals.
This Standard provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or suppliers. Under the CCIC program, companies obtain assurances from their suppliers and intermediary agents that, with respect to the specific ingredients supplied, no animal testing has been conducted on their behalf after a fixed date.
Once CCIC approved, a company is named and linked in their online Shopping Guide & listed in the published Compassionate Pocket Shopping Guide. The CCIC goal is to educate conscientious consumers to "look for the bunny."
Products eligible for approval include items regulated as cosmetics. The program also applies to products traditionally found in the household products aisles of supermarkets, such as cleaning supplies, bleaches, laundry and dish detergents, and cleaners.
There is no fee associated with gaining compliance with the Corporate Standard of Compassion...what this means to you, the consumer...we DO NOT pay to be accredited by the CCIC - we attained this license purely by complying with their superior standards.
Is Sew Help Me™ made by Sewing Expressions or is it some other product with a different name?
Sew Help Me™ was actually formulated by our very own in-house Licensed Cosmetic Chemist - Robert Dowdell (Linnette's husband)! Robert's experience includes 16 years creating the formulas for the Body Shop in the UK and he has kindly brought his expertise and experience to Sewing Expressions.
Sew Help Me™ the revolutionary moisturizer designed by sewer & crafters for sewers & crafters, is non-greasy and fragrance free, so you can continue to work on projects despite hands dried out by fabric, yarn or other craft supplies. Sew Help Me™ moisturizes through natural ingredients such as green tea extract and aloe vera, plus anti-aging peptides to keep skin looking young. All these properties make Sew Help Me™ the best choice for not only your hands, but all your skin - from your face to your toes, every inch can be moisturized!
We've all experienced how dry our skin gets while handling craft and sewing products. And...we've also all experienced applying lotions and creams and either having to wait til it soaks in or wiping it off (neither of which really solves the problem). We all want to be able to continue to work on our projects without this wait and the possibility of getting grease spots on our projects! Sew Help Me™ eliminates this greasiness, allowing our skin to remain soft and moisturized while not interrupting our projects!
Sew Help Me™ is also very economical...a pea-sized bead will moisturize your hands just perfectly!
Like Sew (tm) Frequently Asked Questions
Are there really over 1 Million quilt patterns on this CD?
There are well over 50,000 unique one-block quilt patterns in Like Sew. There are 50,000 x 50,000 two-block quilt patterns on this CD. Each one-block and two-block quilt can be configured in over 1,100 ways by selecting different block and border sizes and row and blocks per row combinations. The real number of patterns is so large it is unbelievable, so we simply state that there are more than 1 Million quilt patterns available on the Like Sew CD.
Are the patterns on the CD very hard?
NO! All of the patterns on the CD only use squares and half-square triangles. Each pattern is made up of only 1 or 2 blocks that are repeated to create the quilt designs. Some of the patterns may look complex, but they are all very simple.
How did you make all of these quilt patterns?
Like Sew is a computer program that creates quilt patterns with a patent-pending quilt pattern generation algorithm. No one pattern was designed by hand. Since the patterns are created by a computer program, interesting patterns that would likely never be thought of by a human quilt designer are possible.
I have Windows 98. Will Like Sew work on my computer?
No. Like Sew only works on Windows 2000, XP, Media Center, and Vista. It also requires a small amount of hard drive space (about 50 MB) and other resources. If you are running one of the required versions of Windows mentioned previously, you will likely have the other necessary requirements to run Like Sew.
How did you come about for Like Sew?
Like Sew was a husband and wife collaboration. Kristin, the designer of baby quilt patterns at www.CuteQuiltPatterns.com, and her husband Sean created Like Sew. Kristin provided the brains and inspiration for the product and Sean contributed the technical and mathematical expertise.
